Bullock Creek Wrestling

Wesley wrestled growing up from the age of nine for Bullock Creek Community Schools. He also ran cross-country and played football, but wrestling is truly unique. Wrestling teaches extreme discipline, dedication, sacrifice and focus.

When Wesley and Nick Wardell took over a struggling high school wrestling program in 2001 they were 3-27 and couldn't field a complete team. Through community involvement and personal dedication the varsity team went 28-5 in 2011, producing 11 individual regional qualifiers, 8 State Qualifiers, and 4 State Placers. The team earned an invitation to the state tournament and was called one of "The Elite Eight". The athletes success was the work of the community as a whole. Organizations like high school sports show important leasons. The athletes success was the work of the community as a whole. Wesley has had hundreds of kids call him "Coach".
