Germania Town and Country Club was a small private club on the edge of Saginaw, Michigan. The Auto economy hit Saginaw hard and many of the golf courses with it.  Germania foreclosed after 2010.  

 

Wesley was hired as an assistant superintendent and two weeks later the superintendent moved on and he took over an already struggling golf course. After revamping the master plan and much needed housekeeping, Germania made significant and noticeable improvements.  

 

For Eight years Wesley worked with the most limited of resources any golf course could have. Equipped with a thirty year had a thirty year old manual irrigation system that I kept together and pieced together daily. There were days we would use the gas left over in our company truck, so that we could mow greens that day. I traded rounds of golf for flowers and learned to co-op with neighboring courses for the best fertilizer deals. The list is too long, the board of directors noticed and also praised the fact that "He was making miracles happen." 

 

Even so, Germania Town and Country Club won the Best of the Best in the Saginaw Newspaper for area golf courses in 2008, 2009, 2010.
